PRP therapy is an injectable procedure in which a patient’s platelet-rich plasma is injected into a part of the body that requires rapid healing, i.e. it is intended to speed up regeneration and stimulate the growth of the body’s own cells. The idea of the method is to get the patient’s own body to produce the amount of cells needed for tissue repair.

Platelets are essentially fragments of a megakaryocyte (the precursor cell of all form elements). On their surface, platelets contain a large number of so-called growth factors – Proteins that stimulate cell synthesis. This is their success in haemostasis (stopping bleeding).
When the concentrated platelets re-enter the body, they start, actively stimulate the growth of new cells. Fibroblasts and muscle fibres are sensitive to growth factors. Increasing their quantity increases the firmness and elasticity of the skin, enables the repair of the damaged parts of the muscles, fasciae, joint structures, strengthening the hair bulb in bed.
Since the growth factor contributes to the strengthening and growth of blood vessels, PRP therapy improves blood circulation in the tissues, resulting in better metabolism, including gases, which helps to restore a deep, healthy complexion and helps with acne and furunculosis.
The patient’s own blood is taken and a plasma supernatant rich in platelets and growth factors is produced by means of a centrifuge. Cell growth and angiogenesis are stimulated and self-healing processes are activated. Numerous recent studies (Cerza et al 2012, Patela et al 2013, Sanchez et al 2012) show a significantly better alternative compared to cortisone or hyaluronic acid. Depending on the indication, 3 to 5 injections are recommended. The system we use is a closed system and is therefore sterile, safe and excludes contamination.
